Role overview

To function as a Stewarding team for Calo Qatar Central Production Unit.  Support the kitchen team and Stewarding Supervisor by making sure that Calo’s Kitchen remains spotless, safe and fully operational at all times,  executing daily preparation tasks to meet Calo’s Haccp and ISSO standards.  The successful candidate will bring consistency, attention to detail  and strong sense of hygiene practice in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction through efficiency and strong adherence to safety protocols 

Relationships and working expectations

  • Works under the guidance of senior chefs and stewarding supervisor  in the Section 
  • Works closely with other steward team  Leads to support workflow efficiency and production consistency 
  • Shift based work, based in temperature controlled environments with mandatory personal protective equipment during all production operation times 
 

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate stewarding across all shifts, assigning cleaning zones and tasks 
  • Ensure correct use of cleaning chemicals, dilution ratios and PPe  to align with Calo’s  quality and safety guidelines
  • Minimize waste through effective practice of storage, labeling and rotation of chemicals and cleaning supplies along with waste segregation and disposal  optimization
  • Follow daily cleaning  plans and ensure timely delivery of cleaned equipment and utensils  to productions  teams 
  • Maintain routine due diligence checks adhering to HACCAP standards  along with sanitation and safety protocols
 

Ideal Candidate

Qualifications 

  • Proven experience as a Steward or Team lead in high-volume, hotels, restaurants  or catering kitchens ( 2 - 4 years minimum)
  • Proficient with basic  health and safety, HACCAP standards (certification preferred) 
 

Knowledge and competency

  • Understanding of basic hygiene and sanitation procedure along with chemical handling 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume production environment
  • Proficient with communication  in English  and working in  a team
