Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager who will support with development, implementation, and maintenance of all food safety and quality programs to ensure that products meet and exceed regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and company standards. The ideal candidate will be a critical leader in fostering a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization. The manager will lead the food safety and quality team, oversee all related operations, and serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits. The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment. That way, our customers will enjoy high-quality service so that we can achieve long-term success.

Main Responsibilities

  • Program Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Food Safety and Quality Management System, including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, and other relevant programs (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC, and AIBI).
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure all food safety and quality programs are in compliance with local and international regulations (e.g., SFDA).
    • Lead and coordinate all internal, third-party, and regulatory audits.
    • Develop and implement RCAs and corrective and preventative action plans needed.
  • Quality Control:
    • Establish and monitor quality control standards for raw materials, cooking,  in-process products, and final products.
    • Oversee product sampling, testing, and inspection to ensure all specifications are met consistently.
    • Oversee quality control checks, including temperature monitoring, microbiological testing, and sensory analysis.
    • Investigate and resolve all quality-related issues, including customer complaints, non-conformances, and product recalls, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze quality data, customer feedback, and performance metrics to identify trends, recommend improvements, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Training and Leadership: 
    • Lead and mentor the local quality team.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards for all employees.
    • Promote a culture of food safety excellence and continuous improvement at all levels of the organization.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management:
    • Manage and approve suppliers by conducting audits and performance evaluations to ensure they meet company quality and safety standards.
    • Work with the procurement team to ensure a safe and secure supply chain, maintaining records for full traceability from source to service.
    • Conducting risk assessments to ensure that all raw materials and ingredients meet strict quality and safety standards.
    • Communicate quality and food safety requirements effectively to suppliers and other external stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all food safety and quality data, including QC records, lab testing results, audit reports, and corrective actions.
    • Analyze quality performance metrics, identify trends, and provide regular reports to senior management.
    • Manage product traceability systems and lead mock recall exercises.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a quality and food safety role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in kitchen operations, with at least 2-3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Knowledge of and certification in GFSI standards (e.g., ISO and FSSC).
  • Hands-on experience with QC protocols, SPC, and quality tools.
  • LSS experience is a great plus. 
  • Additional certifications in food safety management, auditing, or other relevant areas are a plus.

Knowledge and Competency

  • Deep understanding of food safety principles, including HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance (SFDA).
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and conduct root cause analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences, from the production floor to executive leadership.
  • Meticulous and highly organized, with a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance and identify potential risks.
  • Proven ability to investigate issues, make sound decisions, and implement effective solutions under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity and a strong commitment to consumer safety and product quality.
