Why This Role Matters
As a Senior Business Analyst, you won’t just report numbers, you’ll shape how the business understands performance and makes decisions. This role is critical in ensuring our data is trusted, our metrics are meaningful, and our insights directly influence strategy and execution.
You’ll act as a domain owner and trusted advisor, partnering closely with product and business stakeholders to solve ambiguous problems, validate instrumentation, and turn data into measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Own a business or product domain end-to-end, from problem definition to impact measurement.
- Structure ambiguous business questions into clear analytical frameworks.
- Ensure reliable instrumentation, working closely with product teams to validate event tracking and metrics definitions.
- Own and validate core KPIs, ensuring data quality, consistency, and trust.
- Design and maintain scalable dashboards and metrics frameworks that support both strategic and operational decisions.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable business recommendations with measurable outcomes.
- Partner with stakeholders as a trusted thought partner, not just a data provider.
- Leverage AI tools to debug queries, automate analysis, and accelerate insights.
- Mentor junior analysts by reviewing work, sharing best practices, and raising analytical standards across the team.
- Contribute to improving analytics processes, documentation, and ways of working.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Advanced SQL expertise, including complex queries and data modeling.
- Strong spreadsheet skills (analysis, modeling, structured problem-solving).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong self-management, ownership, and work ethic, able to operate independently and reliably.
- Proven experience translating data into business decisions and impact.
Core Technical & Analytical Skills
- Deep experience with BI tools such as Metabase, Tableau, or Looker.
- Strong understanding of metrics design, dashboards, and KPI frameworks.
- Proven ability to ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability.
- Experience owning or validating product analytics instrumentation (Mixpanel or equivalent).
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Python or R for advanced analysis, automation, or modeling.
- Exposure to dbt, analytics engineering, or data pipelines.
- Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in a data-driven environment.
